Canadian Music Stamps 2013

While the United States has already issued stamps honoring Johnny Cash and Lydia Mendoza this year and will issue a Ray Charles stamp next month, Canada is also providing postal tributes to some of its  musicians.  As you can see above, the stamps which went on sale last month honor The Tragically Hip, Rush, Beau Dommage and The Guess Who.

Elvis LawThe American Bar Association has issued The Little Book of Elvis Law, which is the perfect thing to get for those around you who are fans of both Elvis Presley and the legal issues that surrounded him.  According to the ABA, the book “delves into the legal side of Elvis, including: paternity suits and recording contract issues, a bar called The Velvet Elvis, a death certificate investigation, television host Geraldo Rivera, and much, much more! In addition, you’ll find 16 forays into the “Jungle Room” featuring excerpts from leading Elvis reference material.”  It’s $19.95 and if you are interested, you can get it here.

Finally, Glasslands over in Williamsburg is offering what they call their Fall Pass.  For $235, you can gain entry to every show at the club from September 1st through November 30, “no matter what price, no matter how full, no funny business” according to the club.  They will include a drink for you at each show as well.
